I take this opportunity to
congratulate everyone who had the courage and ability to compete in
the I.K.F. Region 7 in 2009. I have personally taken race teams all
over the world and the level and depth of competition in Region 7 is
only eclipsed by the World Championships. Clearly there are series
all over the U.S.A. that tout “they are the best” but the fact is,
if you can run top 5 in Region 7 you can win anywhere! I think it’s
about time we challenge the rest of the country to step up and race
with us if they really want to know how good (or not) they are!
The 2010 Regional program
consists of two (2), five (5) race series. The “Winter/Spring
Series” runs from January through May and the “Summer/Fall Series”
runs from June through November, skipping July. Each series will
have one drop, its own champion and a shared banquet.
The 2010 Regional winners will receive a
jacket displaying the series, the sponsor and the classes won.
Trophies will be awarded first (1st) place through fifth (5th) place
for all junior classes and first (1st) place through third (3rd)
place for all Senior/Masters classes.
TaG Weights:
New Leopard (2010/2011) 385lbs
All other Tag Weights per the IKF Rulebook
PRD Masters Class @ 390
PILOT PROGRAM FOR TIRE
CONTROL IN HPV1 CLASSES:
For 2010 Region Seven will
institute a pilot program for tire control in HPV 1 classes.
Sunday classes will be required to qualify on used tires marked from
a previous Region Seven race. Lightly scuffed tires are not
acceptable. Saturday tires or tires from a previous Region 7 race
weekend can be used. No one will be allowed to qualify without
meeting this criteria. We may require tires to be used to have
additional marking to meet the requirement. Additional testing will
take place.
Sunday only competitors will be supplied with previously used tires
by the race officials.
The intent of this change is to reduce costs to our competitors and
still maintain equality of competition. Any attempt to abuse this
program will be subject to suspension.
KID KART FUEL:
Fuel will be supplied for Kid
Karts when qualifying and racing, it will be $10.00 per race day,
payable at Registration. Track and tech workers will oversee the
process.
